These creatures are the gateway animals into farming for our family. Homesteading urge + food insecurity worries during COVID-19 motivated us to finally get some chickens. They brought us so much joy that we wanted to expand our animal collection. Not only do these silly creatures give us eggs, they also consume almost all our food waste and left overs. No more guilt about kids wasting food! We make a daily chicken plate instead. :) 

 

We pick our chickens specifically for the colors of eggs they provide. We get to collect an Easter basket every day filled with beautiful pastel eggs.
